BookTeller Reader (16)
BookTeller Reader is the main access point to BookTeller contents. You can select, download and read your favorite books in the Reader. The downloaded books reside on your hard drive. So you can still read downloaded contents if you are not online. The BookTeller library is a collection of high-quality children's stories that can easily be accessed through BookTeller Reader. The stories are based on existing storybooks through the addition of animation, interactivity, music and audio narration.

Anyone can download and try BookTeller Reader for free. However, only subscribers can view full content. The subscription price details can be found at http://www.bookteller.com/membership
To uninstall the original BookTeller Reader on a PC:

- Select Start > Settings > Control Panel.
- Select Add/Remove Programs.
- Select BookTeller Reader.
- Select Remove.
To uninstall the BookTeller Reader on a Mac:

- Go to the Applications folder.
- Drag the BookTeller Reader application (the icon with the white background) to the trash.
You can install BookTeller Reader software on any computer running Windows, Mac OS or Linux. You'll need an Internet connection in order to download BookTeller Reader content, but because BookTeller Reader is an application that lives on your computer, you don't have to be connected to the Internet to use it. After you have downloaded book contents, you can take it with you on your laptop or netbook to read wherever you go.

BookTeller Reader uses the default Web browser proxy settings.
It depends on how many books have been downloaded in the BookTeller Reader. Typically a downloaded book consumes 10-50MB of hard disk space. Space is freed up when you delete books from your bookshelf.
If you've already installed Adobe AIR, the typical BookTeller Reader download time is just a few seconds over a high-speed Internet connection. The application itself is only 5MB. If you do not have Adobe AIR, click Download to install it. Adobe AIR takes up 20MB on Mac OS, 15MB on Windows and 13MB on Linux. The installation process is very quick; a typical installation is measured in seconds.
If your configuration requires a manual installation of BookTeller Reader, complete these steps:
To install Adobe AIR, visit http://get.adobe.com/air and choose your operating system.
After you've installed Adobe AIR, download the BookTeller Reader installation package (.air file) from http://www.bookteller.com/air/BookTellerReader.air
Open the .air file to begin installing BookTeller Reader. After you've installed the application, it will start automatically.
If you're upgrading from an older version of BookTeller Reader, first uninstall the older version of BookTeller Reader and install from http://www.bookteller.com/
If automatic installation does not work for you, you can manually install Adobe AIR and BookTeller using the steps above.

We understand that subscribers may want to access BookTeller Reader from more than one location. For that reason, we allow up to three software installations.
Yes, you can log in to BookTeller Reader with the same member ID and password that you use on bookteller.com.

No, BookTeller Reader does not run on the Amazon Kindle or other e-reader/e-ink devices.

Here are the steps for making your purchase:
Click the Subscription button on BookTeller website. You will be redirected to Membership Order page at which you may choose your favorite subscription. After the selection, click on “Pay” button.
Sign in to PayPal and make your purchase.
Return back to this BookTeller website from the link which is visible on the page after you have made your purchase. You are automatically directed to the "Your Personal Information" section.
Launch your BookTeller Reader. BookTeller Reader will automatically check your subscription status online. After the checking process, you will be able to access all your subscribed contents.
You need to sign in to BookTeller website when making a purchase. You will receive a confirmation e-mail after the purchase process finish.
You can pay for BookTeller subscription services by using PayPal.
PayPal will automatically debit the amount of your subscription package from your credit card or bank account at the interval that you choose. (If you are not a PayPal member, PayPal will automatically create a PayPal account for you the first time you make a PayPal payment.)

BookTeller website displays Chinese in Unicode utf-8 format, your web browser needs to support this encoding. Ideally, set your browser's encoding to "auto-detect" but if you don't have this option, choose unicode (utf-8). In addition to the correct encoding set, you also need at least one font containing Chinese characters. You might need to upgrade to the latest Browsers, install some Chinese Fonts or install the supporting Language Packs into your operating system.
